Nations

It was said that the ancestors of Wolfenstaad and Obsidsinoir were the first ones to cross the Halvian Sea.

The storms and tempests that existed throughout the Halvian Sea were dangerous.  The swells and waves were strong enough to sink all but the strongest of ships.  And while the strength of some ships may have been enough to withstand the elements, many would be lost to the creatures that lived and thrived under those seas.  Creatures said to be so large, that their size eclipsed that of the ships they preyed upon.  But those creatures would never venture to the shores of those nations seeking more victims.  They were content to prey only upon those who ventured into their domain.

Yet, many of the other nations on both sides of the sea would continue to send expeditions, hoping it would bring them the promise of fortune.   Many expeditions were lost.  For some, their ship’s wreckage would be seen floating back to their shores after several days.  Sometimes the bodies of the unfortunate travellers were among the wreckage, but many times it was not, having been taken by predators.  In some cases, there was no wreckage, it was as though the ship and its crew had disappeared.

But despite the misfortune visited upon those early travellers, the other nations would eventually reach the other side of the sea, attempting to follow in the footsteps of the most powerful nations in history.  Wolfenstaad.  And Obsidsinoir.
